On Monday we came together with Malala class and had great fun out on the field playing games and relay races. We enjoyed building relationships with our Year 6 friends and can't wait to chat and wave to them as we see them around school.
In Literacy we used pictures to write captions about the story Farmer Duck. We are building our confidence in our independent writing, using our phonic knowledge to support us to write words. We always read our writing back to make sure it makes sense and check we have a capital letter, finger spaces and a full stop at the end of our sentence. We also used hot seating as a tool to practise asking and answering questions. We love hot seating and taking on a role as one one of the characters from the story and have done this for many of the stories we have read.
In maths we recapped our learning on 3D shapes and explored using the shapes to make towers, build shapes using straws and playdough and identify 3D shapes within everyday objects.
On Thursday we took a walk down to Trowbridge Library. There we met Tracy who read us some fantastic stories we had never heard before. We had time to explore the library and sit and choose some books to read. It was a fantastic morning and we cannot wait to go back!
