This week we learnt all about Remembrance Day. It is a special day where we remember those who fought and died in the war. We learnt about why we wear a poppy, explored some new vocabulary and enjoyed developing our skills through Remembrance themed learning activities. Each class made a fallen soldier from poppies. Our class used a sponge to print our poppies and our finger prints to make the black centre and some smaller poppies too.
As a mark of respect we held a two minute silence at our school cenotaph, placed our wooden cross into the ground and listened carefully to a poem. Mrs Cottrell was very impressed with how respectful we were during our mini service.
