Kung Hei Fat Choi!
This week we celebrated Chinese New Year in Redgrave. We learnt all about Chinese culture, from locating China on a globe to making our own lanterns. We watched a lion dance and a dragon dance and took inspiration from this to create our own dragon head, dance and music. We painted the dragon red as red symbolises luck. We glued the scales and eyes and selected wool to attach for its beard. This was so much fun! When it came to the performance, Ravel class provided us with a steady beat to dance to and we took it in turns to be at the front as the dragon's head. We also had somebody tempting the dragon around with a ball, just like in the videos we watched. Check out our video!
