Holbrook Primary School, Trowbridge

Inspiring, Nurturing, Challenging every learner to achieve their full potential

Week 2

This week we have been reading the story Rosie's Walk.  Rosie walks all around the farm as she goes around the pond, through the hay cock and across the yard.  We used this story to support our learning of positional language in maths this week.  Can you see us instructing our partners in their Rosie mask to go across the playground and under the bars?  We have been using our knowledge and understanding of number to create our own number sentences and some of us even chose to collect some litter this week.  Mrs Cottrell was very impressed we have such considerate pupils at Holbrook.

Miss Webley took us on our very own 'Redgrave's Walk'.  We went across the playground, around the dragon, under the bars, through the wooded area and much more.  It was fun to create our own walk, just like Rosie's.

We had our first football coaching session on Wednesday.  Everyone enjoyed it!  We learnt how to dribble, stop the ball and even some fancy foot work.  We also played some games to help us practise our new found skills.  It was great to have some of our year 6 pupils helping too.  We will have our football session every Wednesday now until the end of the year so who know what we can achieve.  Watch out Jack Grealish!
