In our 'Paws, Claws and Whiskers' topic we are focussing on Pets. This week in English we read the story 'Six Dinner Sid' and thought about what a cheeky and somewhat sneaky character Sid was to trick 6 people in to giving him 6 dinners. We loved this story and were able to write a sentence about it. This gave us great practise writing independently and being able to use our phonic sounds to write words. We also labelled a cat too. In maths we have been gathering data about pets. We learnt how to tally and used this to record what pets the children in our class had. Later in the week we learnt that a pictogram was another method of collecting data which we know as information. This time we found out which was our most and least favourite pet. Redgrave's favourite pets were cats and dogs but our least favourite were horses, guinea pigs and snails.
