Inspiring, Nurturing, Challenging every learner to achieve their full potential

Week 4

This week is our first full week at school!  We have been so busy learning new routines.  We have all been given a reading book this week and we have also begun our Phonics lessons.  Reading is magic and we listen to many stories throughout the week.  On Friday we enjoyed 'The Kitchen Disco' where we danced like a pineapple and partied like a pear.  We are enjoying Phonics and Miss Bradshaw says that she is super proud of us for trying very hard.  This week we have been singing lots of nursery rhymes and have rehearsed 'Pat a cake' with our partner and performed this in front of our friends.  On Friday we had our very first Japanese lesson with Leece Sensei.  She was very impressed with our greetings and we made our very own Japanese flag using handprints.  By the end of the week we were pretty tired but we are looking forward to what is in store for us next week.

This week we have enjoyed listening to our friends share their chatterboxes and scrapbooks.  It has been wonderful getting to know our friends by finding out about their family, places they have visited, hobbies and what is special to them.  Our chatterboxes and scrapbooks give us the opportunity to practise our speaking and listening skills and we look forward to sharing some more over the forthcoming weeks.
