Welcome

Week Five

Welcome to Week 5! We are having so much fun in Darwin Class.

In English this week, we looked at the features of a postcard. We looked at the film 'Taking Flight' and we then wrote postcards to the Grandparents and to the Mum and Dad from the film. We also looked at using adverbs within our writing.

In Guided Reading this week, this was our final week looking at the story of 'The Day the Crayons Quit.' We have really enjoyed learning about this book. We became 'Vocabulary Victor's' and we looked at the different language and features that the author used.

In Mathematics this week, Year 3 pupils started to add and subtract 2 and 3 digit numbers. In Year 2, we are still exploring using a part, part whole model to support us with partitioning and finding number bonds to 20.

In RE this week, we have enjoyed learning about the story of 'The Good Samaritan.' We also thought about all the different ways to care for others. We then spend some time in Redgrave Class where we read them a story. This was a lovely experience for us all. We then explored Raksha Bandhan (Hinduism).  Please ask us about this.

In our Martial Arts lesson this week, we completed the 'Bleep Test.' Miss Blake and the instructors were very impressed.
