Welcome

Week Two

Week Two in Darwin Class has been fantastic!

In English, we have written some wonderful descriptions about Mrs Large from the story of 'Five Minutes' Peace' by Jill Murphy. We have written some amazing speech bubbles about what the different characters might say. We have also thought about the different words for feelings. Some children used the word 'vexed' to describe how Mrs Large was feeling!

In Guided Reading, we have looked at the story of 'The Day the Crayons Quit' by Drew Daywalt. We have really enjoyed learning about this book and reading about the different crayons. We have thought about how Duncan felt in the story and we have used 'Predicting Pip' to make different predictions.

In Mathematics, we have been using dienes to make different numbers. We have also completed our first times table quiz and we thoroughly enjoyed it! Mrs Yeomans, Miss Blake and Mrs Hewson are very proud of us!

In History, we have been exploring the Stone Age. We have learnt lots of new words. On Tuesday, we looked at what people in the Stone Age did. Then on Wednesday, we compared our present day houses to Stone Age houses. We loved learning about this. On Friday, we used sticks to do some cave paintings. Look at the photographs below!

In PE, we started Martial Arts and we were very enthusiastic. On Thursday, Mrs Yeomans taught us some new running games in the glorious sunshine.
