Welcome

Week Three

Wow! We are on week three already!

In English, we have retold the story of 'Five Minutes' Peace' by Jill Murphy. At the start of the week, we did this verbally and acted out the story with our partner. Then on Thursday and Friday we have started to write our retelling of this lovely story. We have used time conjunctions and adjectives.

In Guided Reading, we have looked at the story of 'The Day the Crayons Quit' by Drew Daywalt. We have thought about if there are any 'good/bad' crayons in the story. We have also looked at what different dilemmas the crayons have. Ask me if I can talk about their different dilemmas.

In Mathematics, Year 3 children have been finding 1, 10, 100 and 1000 more and less of a given number. In Year 2, we have been learning to tell the time.

In History, we have been continuing to learn more about the Stone Age. This week, we learnt about what people from the stone age ate. We then used the children's kitchen to peel and cut some apples and pears. We then stewed them. The next day, we tasted the yummy snack. As you can see from the photographs below, some of us really liked the taste and others didn't! We then looked at Skara Brae and how significant it is.

In PE, we were joined my Instructor Nick for Martial Arts. He showed us the different movements that a black belt can do. We impressed Miss Blake by remembering the sequences from last year.
