Hello and welcome to Darwin Class!
We are Year Four and are named after Charles Darwin, the famous English naturalist, geologist and biologist.
We would love to share with you our wonderful learning!
Darwin has now started Block 3 learning
In Maths we are continuing to further our learning in the area of Multiplication and Division, focussing on written and formal methods, then we will move on the areas of Area and Fractions. In Fractions we will be learning about equivalent fractions and how to add and subtract fractions! We will also be learning, practising and reviewing our X Tables, and getting ready for the Year Four Multiplication Check in June. We all learn our X Tables together and practise daily! We follow the White Rose Scheme of learning in Maths.
In English we will be using the Write Stuff approach to become highly successful independent writers. We will be focusing on a range of skills to ensure our writing is exciting and skilful. We are loving writing in this way!
In Reading we will be reading a range of texts as a class to develop our fluency and reading skills, we will also be developing our understanding of texts through discussion and answering a range of questions. This block we will be focussing on non-fiction and poetry.
