Holbrook Primary School, Trowbridge

Inspiring, Nurturing, Challenging every learner to achieve their full potential

Our children love to be physical and enjoy exercise! Through PE we teach key life skills such as cooperation and team work. Pupils are exposed to a range of sports and are encouraged to build transferable skills which develop over time. We want every child to be included and able to participate in all opportunities. We take pride in representing our school at sporting events.

PE at Holbrook: one page summary

In 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 Rugby is a key strand of our PE curriculum. Bath Rygby coaches came into school every week for 10 weeks to coach Years 5 & 6. In March, Key Stage 2 watched a live Bath Rugby match!

Enrichment in PE

We take part in a variety of events and games organised by the West Wilts School Games Organisation.  In the last year we have taken part in the Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 Dance Festivals at the Bath Forum as well as taking part in cross country and netball events!  Our children and their families love these opportunities and they provide meaningful, joyous experiences.

Our annual Sports Week celebration enables us to focus on sport for a whole week and culminates in our Sports Day.  We use this week to give children opportunities to play lots of sport and use sports coaches to enhance our experiences.
