Week Nine
Welcome back to Week 9! We hope that you had a great half term!
In English this week, we have started looking at adventure stories. We also wrote our own firework poems that included onomatopoeic words. We also retold the adventure story "Taking Flight." This is a film story from the following website https://www.literacyshed.com/takingflight.html.
This week, we were very fortunate to watch the production of The Wizard of Oz. This was very kindly funded by the PTA. Our Year 2 pupils wrote character descriptions of the main characters from the production whilst the Year 3 pupils visited the local cinema with the rest of KS2. Year 2 pupils will be visiting the cinema next week with EYFS and KS1 chilldren.
In Mathematics this week, we have been focusing on multiplying and finding equal groups.
In Science this week, we carried out an experiment to find out the best material to use for a blind. We used the words opaque, translucent and transparent. We found that the cardboard was the best material because it was opaque and blocked the light.
In Guided Reading this week, we became 'Sequencing Suki' and we thought about how to summarise the text.
In PE this week, we had our penultimate Martial Arts lesson.
