At Holbrook Primary School, our school year is divided into four blocks.
Block One will run from 4th September until 15th November. Within this block we are looking forward to having lots of new experiences that will support and enhance our learning. Please read on to find out more about what we will be covering over the next ten weeks.
During the first week we learnt about the life of Florence Nightingale and why our class is named after them. Please ask your child about what they have learnt as they are full of facts! If you would like to know some more information about Florence Nightingale please click on the links below.

Within this the children will have the chance to explore their own opinions and emotions and develop their understanding of empathy. We will also look at some different stories which will include Jesus ’Miracle of the Loaves and Fishes’ John 6 v.1-15 and see how our own faith may reflect the the way we live.

The children will be looking at how we can choose a healthy and balanced diet. They will then use this knowledge and complete some exciting cooking tasks. We are looking forward to creating some yummy and delicious food to share with you at home.
How do animals survive and thrive?
The children will be researching and investigating different animals including humans. They will look at what animals need to stay alive, where they live and how they grow. They will then research how food affects our bodies and hygiene.
How do we stay safe online?
The children will focus upon e-safety. This is a vital part of the modern world we live in and how we can use technology in a safe and effective way.
